Canadians taking action globally

One of the great things about Canada is the role it plays on the international stage. As we come together to celebrate our country’s 150th birthday, we’re not only focusing on how we can improve our local communities, but also on how we can continue to effect positive change around the world.

One of the ways help create change globally is to take action through WE Villages, our holistic, sustainable international development model. Through five Pillars of Impact—Education, Water, Health, Food and Opportunity—we provide families in developing communities with the tools and resources they need to be self-reliant and break free from poverty.

  • 171 million people could be lifted out of poverty if all students in low-income countries had basic readings skills
  • 1/3rd of the world’s population lacks access to essential medicines
